Performance Point Services integration with SharePoint 2010 has been dramatically improved : now, every items in Performance Point (KPI, Scorecard, Data Source…) are managed in SharePoint list.

This integration really makes the deployment process easier with the Import Item Wizard. You can now (from Dashboard Designer) move items from dev to qa to prod. Just start Dashboard designer and click on the Import Items button:

This will start the import Wizard :

From this wizard you can select what you want to import and the following options:

  • Do not import if already exist
  • Allow to only import items if there are no missing dependencies (ex: do not import a scorecard if one of his KPI is missing)

Once you have all your items in the workspace, you just have to deploy it on your environment (QA,dev,prod…)
